Description
Specifications are for the supply, and stockpiling of 1.5 inch Granite Crush for Bear Creek Dam according to the following: 1. Scope: The contractor shall supply and stockpile crushed granite as specified herein, at areas designated by the Government Representative. Location: Bear Creek Dam Type of Material: 1.5 inch Crushed Granite Quantity: Cannot exceed 1,005 Tons 2. Safety: The truck drivers will be traveling through Bear Creek Park. The drivers shall follow all posted speed limits and be aware of bicyclists and pedestrians. The paved haul road is 2.5 miles long. Trucks shall remain covered until immediately before unloading. 3. Delivery: The 1.5 Inch Crushed Granite shall be delivered with Tandem Dump Trucks no earlier than 17 Oct. 2013 and delivery shall be completed by 31 Oct. 2013. The government shall be notified 5 working days prior to the start of delivery. The materials to be delivered shall be delivered at the enclosed location plan and as directed by the Government Representative. 4. Quality and Source of the Crushed Granite: Crushed granite shall be composed of durable fragments of quarried stone reasonably well graded to meet the gradation below. Natural cobbles of like size are also acceptable. The material shall be free from cracks, seams, and other defects that will cause rapid or excessive deterioration or degradation during service. The material proposed for use shall have a five-year service record of use on similar structures which is determined satisfactory by the Government Representative.
