- Description: This is a combined synopsis solicitation. The United States Merchant Marine Academy has a requirement for the repair of five (5) rooms in the basement of Rogers Hall on its campus in Kings Point, NY (Nassau county) The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, supervision and equipment to repair five (5) rooms in the basement of Rogers Hall in accordance with the SOW. Work includes lead paint and mold removal, lighting repair carpentry, priming, patching and painting. Period of performance is 21 calendar days after receipt of Notice Proceed. Magnitude of Acquisition is $25,000 to $100,000. A 30 day acceptance period is required. Bid, performance, and payment bonds are not required. Davis-Bacon Act is applicable. This is a total HUBZone Set-Aside. Applicable NAICS Code: 238320 (Painting and Wall Covering Contractors), size standard is $14.0 million. Sealed offers in original and one copy, sent by U.S. Mail, commercial express mail or in person delivery are due by 10:00 a.m. local time on Friday, September 20, 2013, at the address below: Department of Transportation Maritime Administration - Procurement Dept. A pre-bid conference/site tour will be held at the United States Merchant Marine Academy, 300 Steamboat Road, Kings Point, N.Y. 11024 at 10:00 a.m. local time on September 16, 2013. Interested parties should assemble at room 212 Furuseth Hall. Attendance is not mandatory but all potential bidders are strongly encouraged to attend as this will be the only site visit held. There will be no response to any other request for site visits. Representative(s) from the USMMA program office will be present.
