NASA/MSFC has awarded Contract NM13AA56C to Baggette Construction, Inc., of Decatur, Alabama for $8,861,000.00. The amount is $8,699,000.00 for the Base Bid and $162,000.00 for the Additive Alternate No. 1 for a total contract award amount of $8,861,000.00.The project title is: Construct Replacement Building 4260. The work to be performed consists of providing the labor, equipment, and materials to construct a two-story office building at the Marshall Space Flight Center, Alabama. The interior spaces consist of offices for approximately 100 people, conference rooms, break rooms, and other support rooms (such copy rooms and mail rooms). The project includes structural steel framing, cast-in-place concrete slabs, membrane roofing system, curtain wall system, indirect/direct light fixtures, and site development (including paving and sidewalks). Also, the project will include the extensions to off-site utilities. The project is registered under the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program and is designed to achieve a certified Silver level rating. A LEED accredited professional is required on the Contractors staff. Use of recycled content materials and implementation of construction waste management and indoor air quality plans are required.
