Description
CARPENTER 1 FIRE BAER PROJECT 2013 IN APPROXIMATELY 1 DAY, THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS COMMERCIAL SERVICE PROJECT WILL BE AVAILABLE TO VIEW AND PRINT. SCOPE OF WORK The work under this contract consists of supplying Certified Weed Free Ag-Straw to designated staging areas, and applying the mulch material to designated treatment areas identified on the attached maps. All treatment products will be free of trash. All work will be done in compliance with contract terms, specifications, and provisions. This includes furnishing mulch material, labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, clean-up, rehabilitation, and incidentals to complete all facets of the contract. Special precautions will be made to minimize the spread of mulch materials, including noxious weeds and invasive species, from aviation staging areas. Mulch will be applied to the ground at a continuous cover of uniform thickness to replace ground cover burned in the fire, to maintain soil moisture, and accelerate recovery of native vegetation. In addition, the organic mulch will protect soil from solar heating and drying, thereby improving the ability of native seeds to germinate. Treatments in source areas will provide a protective organic mulch cover important in reducing/eliminating ash and soil erosion, providing obstructions to overland flow, and subsequent reductions in surface runoff and associated sediment delivery. LOCATION The treatment areas are located approximately 15 -30 air miles from Las Vegas NV, near Mt. Charleston and Rainbow Canyon. The project is located within the Carpenter 1 Fire on the Spring Mtn., NRA of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. The Carpenter 1 Fire is located within Clark and Nye Counties. The elevation range within the burn area is from 5,200 to 11,400 feet. CONTACT CATHY CARLOCK AT 530-279-8331 FOR MORE INFORMATION. CONTRACT TIME WILL BE 10 calendar days with an estimated start date of 09/13/2013. NAICS Code: 115310 Size Standard: $7.0. This proposed procurement is a TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS set-aside.
