Description
13RJR34_syn This solicitation is being posted to Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov/. FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet. Please feel free to use the FBO site to access information posted by NSWC Crane. This Pre-solicitation synopsis is being issued in accordance with FAR 15.206(e) subsequent to the cancellation of NSWC Crane Division Request for Proposal (RFP) N00164-13-R-JR20 and re-issuing the RFP under N00164-13-R-JR34. The synopsis should be read in its entirety. Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division (NSWC Crane) intends to solicit and award a 5-year Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for Charge, Demolition MK 179 Mod 0, NSN 1375-01-580-6678 (DODIC MP27) and Charge, Demolition MK 180 Mod 0, NSN 1375-01-580-6684 (DODIC MP28). The anticipated award date is on or about January 05, 2014. The anticipated minimum/maximum ordering quantities of the MK 179 is 0/1700 units and the anticipated minimum/maximum ordering quantities of the MK 180 is 50/1700 units over the life of the contract. Deliveries shall be FOB destination to NSWC Crane Division, Crane Indiana 47421. The effort is being solicited as a full and open competitive procurement under solicitation N00164-13-R-JR34. SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENT: The MK 179 Mod 0 Demolition Charge is a self-contained, multi-function demolition item. The MK 179 Demolition Charge consists of a PAX-47 main charge, 3 PETN booster charges, an ABS container (10.30 in. x 6.35 in. x 3.0 in.), connected 9/16 inch threaded priming wells on each end, and magnets. The MK 179 Mod 0 Demolition Charge can be initiated using a standard military cap inserted in either of the priming wells or using 50 grain per foot detonating cord run through the connected priming wells. The MK 179 Mod 0 charges are sealed in barrier material and packed five (5) per storm case. The MK 180 Mod 0 Demolition Charge is a self-contained, multi-function demolition item. The MK 180 Mod 0 Demolition Charge consists of a PAX-47 main charge, 4 PETN booster charges, an ABS container (6.35 in. x 6.35 in. x 3.0 in) and magnets. In each corner of the container, there is a connected 9/16 inch threaded priming well. The MK 180 Mod 0 Demolition Charge can be initiated using a standard military cap inserted in any of the four priming wells or using 50 grain per foot detonating cord run through the connected priming wells. The MK 180 Mod 0 Demolition charges are sealed in barrier material and packed ten (10) per storm case. Offerors must be properly registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and in the Joint Certification Program (JCP) in order to receive the solicitation attachments. Offerors may obtain information on SAM registration and annual confirmation at the website https://www.sam.gov and by phone at 1-866-606-8220. Information about the JCP is located at http://www.dlis.dla.mil. The solicitation attachments will be posted to FedBizOps at the same time the solicitation is posted. FedBizOpps may be accessed at http://www.fbo.gov. RFPs are in portable document format (PDF). No hard copies of the solicitation will be mailed. Interested sources must download the solicitation and attachments from the www site listed. All changes to the requirement that occur prior to the closing date will be posted to the FedBizOpps website. It is the responsibility of interested vendors to monitor FedBizOpps for amendments that may be issued to this solicitation. For changes made after the closing date, only those offerors that provide a proposal will be provided any changes/amendments and considered for future discussions and/or award.
