Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 20, Boise VA Medical Center located at 500 West Fort Street, Boise, ID 83702, in accordance with FAR 13.106(b)(1) intends to solicit from a single source. Biomerieux maintains sole proprietary rights to providing preventive maintenance and repair services on the BacT/Alert 3D and Vitek 2 Systems. The NAICS Code is 811219 and the size standard is $19.0 million. The statutory authority for restricting competition under Simplified Acquisition Procedures, or Single Sourcing, for acquisitions under $150,000.00 or Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT) is 41 U.S.C. 253(c), as implemented by FAR 13.106-1(b). This notice of intent is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that the responding company can provide preventive maintenance and telephone support for the Biomerieux BacT/Alert 3D and Vitek 2 Systems in accordance with all manufacturer's specifications. Responses must be received no later than 3:00 pm on September 17, 2013. All responses must be e-mailed to carley.graham@va.gov.
