- This synopsis is being posted to the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov. FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, RI (NUWCDIVNPT) intends to award a Sole Source Requirement to Scheerer Bearing Corporation. The contract shall provide Bearing, Reel Support P/N 53X-02-167, with a quantity of 4. In the past Bearing, Reel Supports have been purchased through Scheerer Bearing Corporation. These Reel Support Bearings have demonstrated historical reliability and preserve the required form, fit, and function necessary. After market research was conducted only Scheerer Bearing Corporation was the known source. The propose contract action is for supplies for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The procurement will be processed using FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. A firm fixed price (FFP) purchase order is anticipated. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties may identify to the Contracting Officer their interested and capability to satisfy the Governments requirement within 15 days of this notice. In accordance with FAR 5.203(a) solicitation N66604-13-Q-3199 will be issued at least 15 days past the date of this notice of proposed action. Point of Contact: Christopher R.
