- Department of Veterans Affairs Date: September 9, 2013 From: Office Acquisition and Logistics, National Acquisition Center, Business Resource Services Solicitation Number: VA797T-13-P-0089 Notice Type: Notice of Intent The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Hines Service Distribution Center (SDC), Service and Repair (S&R) Department in conjunction with the VA National Acquisition Center (NAC), Office Acquisition and Logistics (OAL), Business Resource Services (BRS) has a requirement for repair and maintenance of one (1)Olympus Ureteroscope, Model (No.) DUR-D / Serial No. F20111. The Government intends to issue a firm-fixed-price contract, on a sole source basis to Olympus America, Incorporated (Inc.) Center Valley, Pennsylvania (PA). At this time, repair and maintenance of Olympus Ureteroscope, Model (No.) DUR-D / Serial No. F20111 can only be provided by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) due to the proprietary part (s), repair (s), service (s)and complex nature of the repairs. In addition, the use of OEM components and adherence to OEM's repair specifications is essential to maintain clinical performance and durability and sterilization validation. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may submit a capability statement that includes technical specifications of their services, demonstrating the ability to provide the services as described in this notice. Responses under this Notice of Intent must be emailed by Friday, September 13, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. CT. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred by interesting parties in responding to this notice. The Government is not obligated and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis.
