Description

FLC San Diego Sole Source Synopsis NAVSUP Fleet Logistic Center San Diego is planning to award a sole source FFP contract for the Fleet Readiness Center Southwest under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) for repair services and material associated with the repair of one Government owned ABAR Ipsen Oven, model# VR6060-2BAR serial number BM337. The ABAR Ipsen Furnace requires extensive repairs. The primary purpose of the furnace is to heat treat LM2500 engines to NAVSEA specifications. The furnace is highly specialized in that it lifts the entire LM2500 engine up into a chamber to heat it at extremely high temperatures using rare metal heating elements. The Ipsen Corporation is the original equipment manufacturer and is the only known source with the ability to provide replacement parts that meet compatibility specifications for the existing ABAR furnace and that can provide technically qualified repair technicians. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals (FAR 5.203(a)). However, all responsible sources may submit a proposal which may be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received may be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Set-Aside Status: Not Set-Aside
