- Description
- Amendment 1 The purpose of this Amendment 1 is to provide questions and answers. Q1: Regarding the lengths of 70mm Orange cryostats that the helium-3 system needs to fit into, what height is the 1.5K point for both Orange cryostats? A1: For the general use cryostat, the measurement of the top of the flange to the 1.5K plate is 825 mm. This 1.5 K ring is a ring 5 mm thick and 69 mm diameter and sits above the center of the neutron beam 68 mm and 73 mm bottom and top respectively. For the DCS (longer) cryostat, the measurement of the top of the flange to the 1.5K plate is 1227 mm mm. This 1.5 K ring is a ring 20 mm thick and 69 mm diameter and sits above the center of the neutron beam centered at 133 mm. Q2: The RFQ mentions that the electronics should be similar to the electronics NIST currently uses, but does not seem to mention what NIST is using? A1: The acceptable electronics are Lakeshore, Cryocon, or Oxford Instruments brands.
