- DLA Troop Support Europe and Africa is issuing a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The solicitation number is SPE5B1-13-Q-0005. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2005-66. The associated North American Industrial Classification System Code (NAICS) code for this procurement is 339114, Size Standard: 500 Employees and the Classification Code is 6520. The following items, Dental Compressor, Brand Name or Equal: Beacon Medaes air compressor model number LES10-145-RD-SPL The new compressors must provide air to all 23 dental operatory chairs throughout the Dental clinic. SPECIFIC CHARACTERISTICS Electrical branch: 480 Volts; 3 Ph; 60 Hz; Breaker 100 Amps (max for two air compressors) 23.9 scfm at 141 psig, integral dryer (included in cabinet) Dimensions should be no bigger than 57.1" L x 29.5" W x 40.9" H. Must be able to fit in a door that is 2.10ft wide by 5.10ft high. Package should include the compressor-dryer module and associated lose items, corrosion resistant receiver-bypass- sight glass-drain module, and filtration and regulation. Quantity of 2 EA Delivery to FOB Destination: Norfolk, Virginia included or separate line item Ship to: SW3185 DLA Distribution Norfolk, VA 9248 Virginia Avenue Intermodal Hub Bldg CEP-201 Norfolk, VA 23511 BRAND NAME OR EQUAL FAR 52.211-6 Aug. 1999(a) If an item is identified 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal. As prescribed in 11.107(a), insert the following provision: Brand Name or Equal (Aug 1999) (a) If an item in this solicitation is identified as "brand name or equal," the purchase description reflects the characteristics and level of quality that will satisfy the Government's needs. The salient physical, functional, or performance characteristics that "equal" products must meet are specified in the solicitation. (b) To be considered for award, offers of "equal" products, including "equal" products of the brand name manufacturer, must- (1) Meet the salient physical, functional, or performance characteristic specified in this solicitation; (2) Clearly identify the item by- (i) Brand name, if any; and (ii) Make or model number; (3) Include descriptive literature such as illustrations, drawings, or a clear reference to previously furnished descriptive data or information available to the Contracting Officer; and (4) Clearly describe any modifications the offeror plans to make in a product to make it conform to the solicitation requirements. Mark any descriptive material to clearly show the modifications. (c) The Contracting Officer will evaluate "equal" products on the basis of information furnished by the offeror or identified in the offer and reasonably available to the Contracting Officer. The Contracting Officer is not responsible for locating or obtaining any information not identified in the offer. (d) Unless the offeror clearly indicates in its offer that the product being offered is an "equal" product, the offeror shall provide the brand name product referenced in the solicitation.
