Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Technology Acquisition Center (TAC), located at 260 Industrial Way West, Eatontown, NJ 07724 intends to enter into a contract on the basis of other than full and open competition for the VA Office of Information and Technology (OIT). The TAC intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price purchase order with a period of performance of 12 months to Frontier West Virginia, Inc., 1500 McCorkle Avenue South East, West Virginia, 25396-0002 pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1 entitled, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements." This contract is for recurring telephone circuit and telephone number services which support the Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) circuits located at the Falling Waters, West Virginia OIT field office. The North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) for this effort is 517110. The estimated date of award for this action is on or about 10/01/2013. This solicitation corrects the Authority Cited listed in the synopsis from Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1 entitled, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements" to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), "For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold. Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available."
