- Notice of Intent to Sole Source Contract (Updated) The Southern Regional Contracting Office, Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Hood, TX, intends to award a sole source firm fixed price (FFP) contract to Alcon Laboratories, Inc., 6201 South freeway, Fort Worth, TX 76134-2099, UPDATED: for Monarch III Disposable Cartridges, Monarch III IOL Delivery, Infiniti Ant Vitectomy Pak, and Inf US Pak for use with the Government-Owned Alcon Infinity phaco emulsifier, cataract extraction system, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), additionally three (3) different size knives, which are not sole source will be purchased along with this requirement. The Government owns the Alcon system with seven hand pieces. The FSC for this procurement is 6515. Alcon Laboratories, Inc. is the only vendor that can fulfill this requirement in its entirety. No other company is expected to respond to the requirement. Alcon Laboratories, Inc., is the sole proprietary manufacturer and does not use distributors or sub-license any portion of the product. Award will be made on or about 19 Sep 2013. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 333314 and the size standard is 500 employees. This notice is neither a request for quotes nor a solicitation of offers; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency. The government shall not reimburse interested parties for submissions of capability statements in response to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested sources who submit data are responsible for appropriately marking information if it is proprietary in nature. No requests for capability briefings will be honored as a result of this notice and any information provided will not be used as part of any subsequent solicitation requirement.
