Description

FBO - Intent To Sole Source Notice Narrative09/13/2013 The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System intends to negotiate via a sole source basis with Sorin Group USA Inc. 14401 W 65th Way, Arvada, CO 80004-3599 for preventative maintenance service on (2) Sorin Heart Lung machines used in our OR Department at the VA Medical Center in Pittsburgh. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-5(a) (b), Authorized or Required by Statute. Sorin Group has prior experience and familiarity with the Pittsburgh VA Medical Campuses. In addition, Sorin Group is the sole source manufacturer of the Sorin Heart Lung machine and its instrumentation. This notice of intent is not for competitive quotes. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) number is 339112. This notice is NOT a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document is available. However, parties may express their interest accompanied by supporting literature by email to John Barton, Contract Specialist, no later than September 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. EST. Responses should be sent to johnny.barton@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the VAPHS Contracting Officer.
