- The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) in support of the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR) intends to negotiate a sole source acquisition for antibodies manufactured by Georg-August-Universitat Stiftung Offentlichen Rechts; Universitatsmedizin, Robert-Koch-Str. 42, 37099 Gottingen, Germany. Specifically, the Government will purchase the following antibodies: 4400 ug Z22/8 (anti-C3; 14,6 mg/ml) 1000 ug biotinylate K5/4 (anti-C3a; 0,58 mg/ml) 2200 ng hog C3a Standard (5 ug/ml) 2mg Z22/8 (anti-C3a) 2mg T13/9 (anti-C5a) The purchase of these specific antibodies is to study the role of the complement system in a trauma and the use of complement inhibitors to treat traumatic hemorrhage. These antibodies are the only available antibodies on the market that specially targets porcine complement components, C5a and C3a. Currently, no other vendor sells or distributes porcine specific antibodies for the complement components C5a and C3a. A RFQ W81XWH-13-T-0411 will be issued for brand name items only. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334516 and the size standard is 500 employees. All sources that believe they are eligible to provide these items must respond in writing or respond to the RFQ. Responses must be supported with clear and convincing evidence to clearly articulate the ability to provide the items outlined above. A request for documentation will not be considered an affirmative response. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government. If no written responses are received by the date listed below, which reflects fifteen (15) days after the publication of this notice, the purchase will be awarded without further remark. All questions and responses concerning this notice shall be emailed to Mr. James Cheng at james.cheng1.civ@mail.mil. Interested concerns must identify their capability in writing to the above e-mail address no later than 4:00 pm ET, Thursday, October 3, 2013.
