- The action awarded a firm-fixed-price delivery order for VMware software and maintenance and technical support under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 "Only One Responsible Source and no Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirement" and citing 41 U.S.C. § 253(c) (5) and DFARS subpart 208.74 - ENTERPRISE SOFTWARE AGREEMENTS. This is a sole-source award of a delivery against Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) with Carahsoft Technology Corp. (Contract #W91QUZ-09-A-0003) for the software and maintenance and technical support available on the Army's Computer Hardware, Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) contract for DoD-wide use. The Interagency Program Office (IPO) requires the functionality provide by the VMware product line to allow the IPO Development and Test Center (DTC) to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of its IT infrastructure. The product provides the required functionality to allow server virtualization and the development of a private virtual cloud environment. VMware is the solution required to maintain standardization within Enterprise Infrastructure IT configurations upon which the DTC relies to ensure consistency and interoperability within the Military Health Systems environment. Vendor consistency will also assist with compliance with all IPO and DOD/VA Configuation Management practices and guidelines.
