- USAID Liberia Municipal Water Project - Construction Activities The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is supporting water supply infrastructure improvements in the Liberian target cities of Robertsport, Sanniquellie, and Voinjama, which have a combined population in excess of 30,000. This Request for Information (RFI) is intended to gather information on the capacity and interest of firms to construct municipal water infrastructure in the target cities per designs currently being finalized by an Architect-Engineer (A-E) Contractor under the Liberia Municipal Water Project (LMWP). The information submitted will be used to finalize the Acquisition Strategy and Acquisition Plan for this forthcoming construction project. The A-E Contractor will assist USAID in evaluating the information submitted. Anticipated construction activities include: river intake structures and raw water conveyance; pretreatment processes (screening, aeration, pre chlorination, sedimentation, tube settlers, baffles, weir plates, and process piping); treatment processes (sand filtration, media collection piping, chemical addition, chlorination and high lift/treated water discharge piping); power generation including solar and standby generator units; distribution systems consisting of PVC and ductile iron pipe, fittings, valves and hydrants, tapping saddles, corporations, curb stops and boxes, HDPE or copper tubing, steel sleeves, and public metered kiosks and appurtenances; restoration of existing storage reservoirs; and architectural improvements to the previous office and treatment facility structures including cleaning, concrete restoration, painting, doors, windows, handrails, floor hatches and other improvements. The Construction Contractor will be required to furnish, install and startup/test all equipment and materials for the project and provide operation and maintenance support during initial operations. The Construction Contractor will be required to utilize local subcontractors to support construction work, provide requisite training and mentoring to local subcontractors to develop their capacity to undertake such projects, and provide training to local operation and maintenance staff. Anticipated project value is $25 to $35 Million USD. Contact Information including firm name, address, contact name, e-mail, and telephone number. 2. Past Performance References describing the firm's previous and ongoing construction projects during the past five years that are similar in size, scope and complexity to the above-described work. Past performance references must include: -Project location; -Start and end dates; -Contract value; -Client contact information; and -Brief narrative description of work performed. The narrative should describe the technical nature of the work and also describe any local capacity building efforts, hiring of local subcontractors and personnel, and mobilization and implementing in under-resourced remote locations with challenging roadway access. 3. Total annual value of construction completed by the construction firm during each of the past five years. 4. Additional information such as corporate brochures may also be included as appropriate to demonstrate the firm's capacity to perform the work. This is a Request for Information for market research purposes. This is not a request for proposal. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of responses, nor otherwise pay for the preparation of any information submitted, nor will respondents be notified of the review of the information received.
