Description
The contract award is for a cost plus fixed fee completion type contract with a base period of nine (9) months and potentially six (6) one-year options. The contractor will provide Genetic Toxicity Testing services for the National Toxicology Prgram headquartered in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Under the contract, the contractor shall: 1) provide support to the government jn order to examine a variable number of chemicals annually, depending on the needs of the government and available funding, for induction of genetic changes (e.g., mutations, chromosomal changes, DNA damage) in animal or human cells 2) The contract will also provide the government the capability to examine chemicals for ability to induce genetic changes (e.g., chromosomal changes, DNA damage) in cultured mammalian cells 3) will provide the capability to test chemicals per year for induction of gene mutations in bacterial tester strains 4) engage in research and development activities required for assay development and refinement as pertinent technology improvements and innovations occur during the course of this contract.
