Description

Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract Department of Veterans Affairs VHA Program Contracting Office East, 1100 First Street, NE, Suite 735F Washington, DC 20002 intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) - FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(A) - Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, to (ASA) American Statistical Association. 1.Description of Supplies/Services Required to Meet the Agency's Needs: The contractor who will coordinate this event will ensure expert panel has appropriate resources to complete their goals. The goals of the panel and workshop are as follows: "Re-identification risk of medical and genomic data "Discuss theoretical methods for measuring and mitigating re-identification risk of medical and genomic data "Provide practical methods to reduce the risk of patient re-identification without significantly interfering with the research objectives for which the data is being sought "Create cyber-seminar to share presentation outcomes "Complete manuscript describing the process and outcomes THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification prior to the response due date and time. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to perform the requirements. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the award. Responses are due by September 25, 2013, 2:00 p.m. (ET). Responses shall be submitted via e-mail to Merenica.banks@va.gov. Telephone requests or inquires will not be accepted.
