- Description
- The VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 -- Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements with Psychology Software Tools, Inc. for MRI Compatible button response units, control system, required cables, adapters. This requirement will include the following characteristics: Product Description The Neuroimaging Research for Veterans Center (NERV) has a need for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) compatible equipment that is used to collect patient responses while undergoing MRI. The requested hardware will upgrade research capabilities by allowing for the collection of bimanual patient responses, collecting up to 10 distinct response options, as well as a joystick for paradigms using a dynamic response range or visuospatial navigation tasks. This equipment, which is critical for recording response data from research patients, will be utilized by multiple research protocols here at VA Boston. The system includes a control unit, MRI compatiblie ergonomic right and left hand 5-button response pads with wrist straps, MRI compatible joystick, and MRI compatible fibre optic cables ($7862.50) Salient Characteristics 1.The new Celeritas Series Response Units comfortably attach to the participant's wrists and ergonomically support the participant's hand(s) during scanning. The units are constructed almost entirely from plastic, completely eliminating all metal inside the magnet room. The units communicate button presses through fiber optic cabling which connects to a Fiber Optic Interface Console located in the control room through an available wave guide. The Fiber Optic Interface Console provides real-time feedback of participant responses via LED indicators and includes a set of switches which can be used to make responses for the participant as needed. The system seamlessly integrates with E-Prime ® through a serial connection and other software packages through a USB connection. TTL output signals can be used to interface with other data collection devices and software. The interface console comes with a BNC Connector that allows the computer to accept a TTL Pulse that the stimulus presentation computer interprets as another button press, allowing the user to synchronize their experiments with the MR scanner. oErgonomic design oWrist strap to reduce participant non-conformance oAdjustable wrist sled for a more comfortable fit oAssembled using high-impact, chemical resistant, medical grade plastic. oTactile indicator on index finger button oMagnet room wall mount holder for BRUs and cabling This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest, accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than ENTER DUE DATE AND TIME. Responses should be sent to ENTER EMAIL ADDRESS. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
