- Description
- Project work consists of maintenance dredging the Fort Pierce Harbor Turning Basin and isolated shoals in the Entrance Channel. A portion of the Entrance Channel will be excavated to a depth of 30 feet plus 2 feet of allowable over-depth. The remainder of the excavation in the Entrance Channel and Turning basin will be 28 feet plus a 1 foot of allowable over-depth. Beach quality material will be placed in a designated beach disposal area located immediately south of Fort Pierce Inlet. Non-beach quality material within the project limits will be left undisturbed until such time that transport and placement in the Fort Pierce Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS) is permissible. Incidental work includes beach tilling, turbidity monitoring, construction/vibration control and monitoring, and endangered species monitoring.
