- Description
- DESCRIPTION OF INTENT: PM MRAP is conducting a sources sought market survey to identify sources capable of manufacturing A-kits for use in future Capability Set network architecture for the MRAP Family of Vehicles. PLEASE CLICK ON--MARKET SURVEY--LINK TO ACCESS THE SURVEY. DESCRIPTION OF A-KITS: There are two types of A-kits: Point of Presence (POP) kits and Soldier Network Extension (SNE) kits. Both kits consist of electrical and mechanical components. Each POP A-kit consists of approximately 80 unique metal brackets, enclosures and weldments, approximately 120 each unique electrical cables and ground straps, approximately 15 source-controlled commercial items, and several dozen types of fasteners (bolts, screws, washers, nuts, etc.). Each SNE A-kit consists of approximately 80 metal brackets, enclosures and weldments, approximately 160 unique electrical cables and ground straps, approximately 15 source-controlled commercial items, and several dozen types of fasteners (bolts, screws, washers, nuts, etc.). The kits provide the physical and electrical interface between the vehicle and existing components and the tactical communications equipment comprising a Capability Set (CS). A-kits are required for the physical mounting, powering and cooling of the CS14 equipment. Additionally, A-kits provide the cables to connect the various CS components to each other, the existing radios and antennas, intercom system, and command and control systems. All parts, other than source-controlled commercial items and fasteners are constructed per USG-owned technical data packages (TDP). The TDPs for each kit type are ITAR restricted and cannot be publicly released. Some of the TDPs, representing a sample of the types of parts in the A-kit, are available for explicit access to qualified U.S. Contractors. To obtain access to the TDPs, your company must be registered in the Joint Certification Program (JCP) and have an account in www.Fedbizopps.gov. Access Link to TDPs: https://www.fbo.gov/fedteds/W56HZV14R9999 JCP was established to certify contractors of each country for access, on an equally favorable basis, to unclassified technical data disclosing critical technology controlled in the U.S. by Department of Defense Directive 5230.25 and, in Canada, by the technical Data Control Regulations.
