Torque Force Calibr Specifications CALIBRATION STANDARD SPECIFICATION RFI Torque Force Calibrator - Request for Information General Information: Solicitation Number: Reference-Number-N64267-13-R-0088 Classification Code: K030 Modification of Mechanical Power Transfer Equipment NAICS Code: 334519 Contracting Office Address: Department of the Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Surface Warfare Center Corona Division, 1999 4th Street Norco, CA. 92860, C. Description: This is a Request for Information (RFI). There is currently no solicitation package available. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Corona Division is requesting information, comments, and questions regarding interest in an upgrade to the Torque Force Calibrators of Type AKO Part No. TSD-TFC 2060N-001. or AKO Part No. TSD 3000-CD-TM-2060-1025-N001. An upgraded system would be a modified commercial Torque Force Calibrator solution that is capable of calibrating Torque Wrenches, Torque Screw Drivers, Torque Multipliers, Force Gages, Cable Tensiometers and other similar equipment in Navy inventory according to CSS 06-0161 (REV C) and NAVAIR Torque Force Calibrator Modification Specification AIR 06-0161B. The Torque Force Calibrator is intended to be used by Navy personnel in shipboard and shore-based calibration laboratories and will be required to conform to CLASS 4 requirements as modified in CSS 06-0161 (Rev C) for MIL-PRF-28800. All modifications to the government approved technical manual(s) currently published for the Type AKO Part No. TSD-TFC 2060N-001 or AKO Part No. TSD 3000-CD-TM-2060-1025-N001 should be documented in change pages for inclusion in an updated manual which would incorporate illustrated drawings, assembly diagrams, recommended parts replacement, maintenance and appropriate safety warnings will be required. The Navy interest for this Torque Force Calibrator represents an overall fleet safety improvement project to modify existing items to incorporate safety engineering best practices. Note: This is not intended to be a full developmental project. Modified commercial proposals are anticipated. Any future contracts would require the manufacturer to bear the full cost risks until contract award. The Navy would intend to place up to two (2) orders if a contract award were to take place. The first order would be for a quantity of One (1) to Three (3) modified systems, with an option for a larger quantity to be ordered no later than 180 days after contract award. The preferred candidate will meet the specific requirements listed in CSS 06-0161 (REV C) and NAVAIR Torque Force Calibrator Modification Specification AIR 06-0161B as well as demonstrate a sound knowledge of operator safety implemented through modification of commercial products. A Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) for unit cost and lead times for delivery should be included in information provided. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to this RFI and Government use of such information. This RFI does not constitute the solicitation of proposals. Responders to this RFI may be requested to provide additional details/information based on their initial submittals.
