- The National Park Service (NPS) is requesting separate proposals to lease one or more of three historical buildings, located in Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, Skagway Alaska. Starting Friday, August 9, 2013, for each of the three buildings noted below separate requests for proposals (RFP's) will be available on the Internet at http://www.concessions.nps.gov/prospectuses.htm, or upon request from the park office. The buildings are wood frame, historic commercial structures originally dating from the Klondike Gold Rush of 1898. These buildings have either been rehabilitated or reconstructed or have had the interior spaces remodeled with new finish treatments appropriate to the historic period of significance. Proposals to lease for periods of 5-10 years will be considered. Reference the request for proposals for details on lease beginning dates. Food or beverage preparation or service, and public overnight accommodation uses are not compatible with the design of, and preservation goals for, these buildings. Arcades, the sale of alcohol or tobacco products, and entertainment inappropriate for a family audience are also unacceptable. Proposals for such uses will not be considered. Proposers must accept the interior floor, wall, ceiling, and general lighting treatments "as-is" and without further modification. Other limitations on uses apply. The minimum annual lease amounts are as noted: Cribs Building, 250 Broadway, 503 Sq. Ft Gross Building area, $15,090.00; Boss Bakery Building, 520 Broadway, 832 Sq. Ft. Gross Building area, $39,440.00; Lynch & Kennedy Building, 352 Broadway, 3576 Gross Building area, $109,896. To obtain responses to questions or modifications to these RFPs, contact Vickie McMillan to be placed on a mailing list. Responses to questions and RFP modifications may be also posted at the web address noted above. Proposals must be received at Office of the Superintendent, Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, Second & Broadway, PO Box 517, Skagway, AK 99840 not later than 5:00 p.m. Alaska Daylight time on Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Starting Friday, August 9, copies of the RFP's may be obtained from the Web address noted above, or from the Chief of Business & Administration Vickie McMillan, at the address above or by telephone 907 983-9218, fax 907 983-9249, or E-mail vickie_mcmillan@nps.gov. Prospective applicants are strongly encouraged to read the RFP in its entirety, and to inspect the building prior to submitting proposals. Applicants may arrange access to the buildings with Ms. McMillan.
