- Description
- SOURCES SOUGHT: THIS NOTICE IS MARKET RESEARCH TO SUPPORT INCLUSION OF A SOLE SOURCE (BRAND NAME) SPECIFICATION IN AN FY14 CONSTRUCTION PROJECT - FTG186, MECHANICAL ELECTRICAL BUILDING FOR MISSILE FIELD #1, FORT GREELY, ALASKA - AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. The U.S. Army Engineer District, Alaska intends to specify the below listed item as part of a larger construction contract to be executed on Fort Greely, Alaska. A determination by the Government to not compete this requirement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Reference FAR 6.302-1(c), "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements". ITEM: Hirschmann Mach 1000/RS-20 Network Switch. THIS NOTICE IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE AND NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. No solicitation will be available as this sole source item will be incorporated into the specifications of an FY14 solicitation for a new Military Construction (MILCON) facility on Fort Greely, Alaska. The Missile Defense Complex utilizes a Hirschmann Mach 1000/RS-20 network switch as the main switch for the Power Control and Monitoring System (PCMS). All buildings on the complex are required to connect the power switches to the PCMS head end control system. The power to multiple components such as leak detection, HVAC, BacNET, UMCS, and Reverse Osmosis Units are maintained and controlled by the centralized system. The Hirschmann Mach 1000/RS-20 network switch provides the convergence of wire-line components to the head end control. Hirschmann Mach 1000/RS-20 network switch used to configure and fully integrate all equipment power components to the head end control system are installed in all areas of the Missile Defense Complex. It is critical that systems in new facilities integrate with the PCMS using the proprietary Hirschmann switch for proper monitoring/control to prevent inoperability of the missiles. Vendors who offer a network switch which can meet all of the above functional criteria are invited to respond to this notice. Responses must include the following information: (1) Identification of the manufacturer's name, address, and country of product manufacture. (2) Fully detailed specification sheets. (3) Narrative addressing how your product meets the salient features listed above. Please send responses to U. S. Army Engineer District, Alaska, ATTN: CEPOA-CT (Mandel), P. O. Box 6898, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK 99506-0898 or email Michelle.R.Mandel@usace.army.mil.
