Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. -Sliding Door Measurements. 5.2.5.2 The Door System shall be designed for approximately 10'4 quote mark feet wide and 8 feet Height.- No problem - Depth, Width, and Length 5.2.3 Division 1 Class 1 Pneumatic (ALL AIR), Explosion Proof Sliding Door Operators. Problem- We do not have a fully pneumatic operator. We can provide an operator engineered for a Class 1, Division 1, Group C & D application, but it is all electric. It is required to be pneumatic not electric. - Type of Fuel Control This is pneumatic (pressured air) operated door since the location is hazardous area (Bldg. 8 Fuel Control Area). NFPA 80 and life safe code 101 indicates that area where hazardous materials are handled must have barriers in means of egress (exiting route). Does he mean must not have barriers in the means of egress? A slide door without break away or a pass door is a barrier. Break away is not available. We can provide the fire door with a pass door. Yes it is a pass door. - Does the Fire Department need to be involved for approval? Fire department approval is not required please refer scope of work 21.0. 21.0 FIRE PROTECTION: Do not use heat or spark producing equipment and tools and heated products within hazardous area, except by approval of the Contracting Officer. Submit the fire protection plan for approval of such work as required. One is responsible to prevent life and fire hazards. No smoking allowed except outside the buildings at designated areas. - Photos / Drawings Photos are attached for your reference. Drawing shall be provided by manufactures. Please refer 5.2.5.1. 5.2.5.1 Contractor shall follow manufacturer's installation guide, requirements and details when performing Work. Installation of the door system shall be per drawings and manuals provided by the door Manufacturer. - What is being replaced from the current doors? Existing door is HD pneumatic slide door. It is very aged and many repair attempts has failed. Proposed door shall be fire proof pneumatic (air operated) operating sliding door.
