When a decision is made to proceed with the Industry Day, a notification will be placed on FedBizOpps under the original solicitation. Please check regularly with the website for further information. ====== The Idaho National Laboratory is issuing this draft solicitation for the Common Data Link (CDL) Communications for Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (SUAS). The schedule for the solicitation is as follows: DRAFT RFP ISSUE DATE TO FEDBIZOPPS: October 2, 2013 PRE-PROPOSAL CONFERENCE IN DELPHI, MD: October 22, 2013 FINAL RFP ISSUE DATE: November 4, 2013 FINAL QUESTIONS DUE: November 20, 2013 PROPOSAL DUE DATE: December 18, 2013 CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR: Kort Bowman TELEPHONE NO.: (208) 526-0154 E-MAIL: Kort.Bowman@inl.gov This Request for Proposal solicits offers from industry to provide a Common Data Link (CDL) system for communication of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Command/Control (C2) data for Group 2-3 Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) platforms. Recent enhancements to the Common Data Link could lead to significant growth in the portfolio of CDL platforms through integration of the mandated, standardized and interoperable CDL communications capability into smaller UAS. Greater flexibility in data rates, frequency bands, and improved spectral efficiency offer the opportunity to expand the use of CDL into Group 1-3 UAS platforms, for example, the Small Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System (STUAS) currently under development for the Navy and Marine Corps. CDL employment was previously precluded for use in many of these UAS groups due to the limited Size, Weight and Power (SWaP) budgets of the platforms.
