Description

INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Veterans Affairs Mid-Atlantic Healthcare Region (VISN 6) Network Contracting Office intends to enter into a sole source procurement for the Asheville VA Medical Center, with Mission Hospital's Laboratory Outreach Services, 509 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, North Carolina. The procurement is for emergent testing and additional blood bank procedures required throughout FY2014 to accommodate laboratory tests that require a rapid turn-around time (STAT) and/or where viability of the specimen is time critical. NAICS code 622110 applies to this procurement. The proposed contract action is for laboratory testing which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of Intent is not a request for quotations. Interested persons may identify their interest in this requirement no later than 10:00 AM EST, October 11, 2013 to: dori.dabbs2@va.gov. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. No solicitation will be made available. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
