- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ANNOUNCEMENT; A MARKET SURVEY FOR INFORMATION ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR QUOTES AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS SYNOPSIS. NO REIMBURSEMENT WILL BE MADE FOR ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING INFORMATION IN RESPONSE TO THIS SYNOPSIS OR ANY FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION REQUESTS. THE PURPOSE OF THIS SYNOPSIS IS TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE OF POTENTIALLY QUALIFIED SOURCES AND THEIR SIZE CLASSIFICATIONS (SMALL BUSINESS, LARGE BUSINESS, ETC.) PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST A COPY OF A SOLICITATION, AS ONE DOES NOT EXIST. The 42d Contracting Squadron, Maxwell AFB-Gunter Annex AL, is seeking sources that are capable of providing maintenance; sustainment and hosting of 17 Interactive Learning Activities (ILAs) and the National Security Decision Making (NSDM) computer simulation for Spaatz Center distance/blended learning programs. The ILAs, which take the average student 45-60 minutes to complete, are short computer simulations that explore and highlight a specific area for joint forces, joint planning and joint air operations. The larger computer simulation, National Security Decision Making (NSDM), takes the students an average of 24 hours to complete. (A computer simulation is defined as something that models a real-life or hypothetical situation on a computer so that it can be studied to see how the system works. The simulation has a capability to change variables.) Please see attached DRAFT Performance Work Statement (PWS) for specific requirements. RFI responses must include: (1) Company name, address, point of contact, email addresses, and telephone/facsimile numbers. (2) Type of business, i.e., small, small disadvantaged, woman-owned, Hub Zone, serviced-disabled veteran-owned small business, large business, under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 611430 which contains a size standard $10.0 million. (3) Provide a white paper outlining company's solution to provide Sustainment, Maintenance and Hosting services in accordance with the attached PWS, dated 4 Oct 2013, not to exceed 10 pages (cover included), single-spaced, Times New Roman, 12pt font. (4) Describe what experience, as well as how much experience (i.e., months, years) your company has with making necessary updates/changes to simulated computer environments? Include the types of interactive education tools and simulations used to provide maintenance, sustainment and hosting.
