Description
Added: Feb 21, 2013 1:04 pm DARPA is soliciting innovative research proposals in the area of spectrum sharing between radar and communications systems. Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in science, devices, or systems. Specifically excluded is research that primarily results in evolutionary improvements to the existing state of practice. See attached DARPA-BAA-13-24 document for solicitation details. See DARPA Special Notice 13-25 for the Proposer's Day Announcement related to this BAA at the following link: https://www.fbo.gov/spg/ODA/DARPA/CMO/DARPA-SN-13-25 /listing.html Added: Mar 13, 2013 10:04 am The purpose of this notice is to publish DARPA-BAA-13-24 Amendment 1 and the Questions and Answers pertaining to the solicitation. Accordingly, see attached files. Added: Sep 06, 2013 9:18 am The contractor shall combine an extensible cognitive control plane with multiple system-level and device-level spectrum separation techniques. The contractor shall demonstrate: 1) scalability through separating global control from multiple local control systems, with the battlespace partitioned intelligently via RF propagation analysis and geospatial reasoning, 2) development and characterization of a range of spectrum sharing techniques leveraging closed-loop information sharing between the radar and communications systems, and 3) high-level management of the cognitive control system by a spectrum sharing priority "dial" the commander can use to rebalance resources to meet evolving mission needs. Add The Following To Description: The contractor shall combine a fully distributed spectrum resource manager application, employing a machine learning control layer, with three innovative spectrum sharing techniques that are carefully chosen to support the transition. A valuable aspect of the project is a strong code-in-the-loop simulation approach leveraging validated models of the radar and military radio transition targets.
