Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract to The Boeing Company (TBC) 6200 JS McDonnell Blvd St. Louis MO 63134 using authority FAR Subpart 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. TBC is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer and integrator of the F/A-18E/F/G aircraft in its various configurations and is the only source with the knowledge, expertise, facilities, and qualified personnel necessary to accomplish this effort. The Navy does not possess a technical data package suitable for competition. This effort involves the retrofit of eighteen (18) SUU-80A/A pylons, part number 74A096525-1001, originally manufactured to support OPEVAL testing. These pylons will now be retrofit in order to bring them into compliance with the most current authorized configuration.
