Description

The Department of Veterans Affair VISN 6 Network Contracting Activity intends to negotiate a sole source commercial item procurement with Olympus America Inc. for the renewal of software licenses and support of the existing EndoWorks. This proposed procurement is for the renewal of the licenses only and not new software, maintenance, and service. The system is used by the VA Medical Center at Beckley, West Virginia. The NAICS code is 511210 and the classification code is D399. The suggested vendor is Olympus America, Inc. 3500 Corporate Drive, Center Valley, PA 18034-8229; the price is estimated to be $12,510 per year. The Government intends to award a sole source contract for this requirement under the statutory authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements". This notice of intent IS NOT a request for competitive quotes; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than 2:00pm EST, October 25, 2013. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
