- Description
- Description: This Request for Information (RFI) is being posted by the Marine Corps Systems Command. The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Virginia seeks sources and information for "touch screen monitors." The touch screen monitor, meeting the minimum physical and environmental requirements, will mount for active operational use in the cab of a M1152 High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) on a universal mount (not included in this RFI). The touch screen monitor will be cabled to an Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) computer, located inside the Mobile Tactical Shelter (MTS), which mounts on the rear of the HMMWV behind the cab. The touch screen monitor will allow the user to manipulate the AFATDS remotely while occupying the cab of the HMMWV, allowing for continuous situational awareness and responsiveness of fire support assets while on the move. This touch screen will essentially act as a second monitor duplicating the screen of the AFATDS laptop. The operator will have the capability to manipulate the screen with cursor and keyboard inputs. Concept of Employment: The AFATDS is a multi-service (U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps) and combined forces Fire Support Battle Command System. The touch screen monitor will be housed within the cab of the HMMWV and connected to the AFATDS laptop in the Mobile Tactical Shelter (MTS) via cabling and connectors specified in the requirements. This will allow for a user in the cab to manipulate the software present on the AFATDS laptop in the MTS via the touch screen in the cab.
