Description
RFP # 27102 for Warehouse Management System GPO requires the services of a contractor that will provide commercially off-the-shelf (COTS) technology with minimal customization to develop, integrate, and deploy a functioning WMS (Warehouse Management System). The US Government Printing Office (GPO) strives to meet our customer expectations for products and services by streamlining operations and improving system capabilities. The GPO is tasked with the effective and efficient movement of production materials of the receiving, storing and issuing items to production areas. These materials need to be accurately tracked, and issued on-time while using the available labor force effectively to meet the demands and workload from the Legislative Branch of the Federal Government and Executive Branch agencies. Therefore, the GPO seeks to modernize its paper-driven warehouse management process to a paperless warehouse management system (WMS). The paperless warehouse management system will enable real-time data entry of receipts and issues, drive visibility of material inventory and demand trends for supervision, and improve coordination of material movements and physical counts with available warehouse personnel. The GPO anticipates the internal drive to improve accuracy, speed, and the cost in material inventory management. This will increase as GPO transitions from long runs on web offset printing to short runs on digital printing. The number of inventory transactions will grow as digital printing increases.
