- Description
- T-1A GBTS Sources Sought Announcement T-1A Ground Based Training System (GBTS) Sources Sought Announcement T-1A GBTS Program Description The principle mission of the T-1A GBTS is to provide direct, transferable training of pilot tasks for the T-1A aircraft to support the Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training (SUPT) syllabus. Through the use of the T-1A GBTS, student pilots gain knowledge and experience on the operational use of all controls and instruments during abnormal and emergency situations, instrument flight training, and normal operating procedures. The primary users of this system are represented by Air Education Training Command (AETC). The current contract supports a total of 16 Operational Flight Trainers (OFTs) and 14 Avionics Part Task Trainers (APTT) located at Randolph AFB, Vance AFB, Laughlin AFB, Columbus AFB, and NAS Pensacola. This contract also supports 2 TSSCs one of which is the Combat Systems Officer baseline configuration at NAS Pensacola. T-1A GBTS System Requirements The Government is conducting market research to identify, as potential sources, companies that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to competently and competitively respond to meet the following key requirements: - On-Site Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) of all OFTs and APTTs. - The modification of the OFTs and APTTs as required for maintaining concurrency with the aircraft. OFTs and APTTs need to have same hardware and software baseline where required. - The upgrades, enhancements, or the insertion of advanced technology into the OFTs and APTTs for the purpose of maintaining or improving operational safety, suitability (i.e., supportability, availability), and effectivity (i.e., increased training capabilities).
