- Amended 10.23.2013 Request for Information (RFI) October 23, 2013 NIEHS The mission of the NIEHS is to discover how the environment affects people in order to promote healthier lives. As such, The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences seeks capability statements from readily available sources to supply bulk gases and cylinder tanks to be delivered to the National Institutes of Health. Goals: The purpose of this acquisition is to effectively procure efficient, safe and cost-effective contracting measures to ultimately ensure the supply of varied compressed bulk gases, gas cylinders and drayage from the commercial marketplace for specialized laboratories and facilities use in the conduction of pivotal scientific research at the National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences located at Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The gases, and equipment utilized in this anticipated contractual endeavor must be in compliance with various federal, state, local laws and NIH & NIEHS regulations affecting the safe use and transport of varied gases, cylinders and drayage. The intended procurement will be classified under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 325120; Industrial Gas Manufacturing with an employee size standard of 500. The Government anticipates that this contracting mechanism will be an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract. A period of performance to include base period of one year, with four and ½ year(s) option periods...not to exceed 5 years and 6 months duration cumulative (is anticipated). The proposed services will be obtained through the issuance of individual, fixed-price delivery orders. The planned release date of the solicitation document is on or about January 7, 2014 with a due date of February 11, 2014. The anticipated contract award date is September 30, 2014. This RFI is open to ALL SMALL BUSINESSES ONLY. The following denotes information/input requested: Company Information Vendors shall provide a summary about their company.
