- Updated Qualification Process - TSA EDS Competitive Procurement Industry Slide Deck The purpose of this notification is to inform Explosive Detection Systems Manufacturers that TSA has revised the qualification process for Explosive Detection Systems (EDS). In an effort to accelerate the process of deploying the most effective and efficient security capabilities, TSA is no longer requiring Certification Readiness Testing (CRT) as part of the EDS qualification process. However, the service will remain available for developmental purposes and vendors should work closely with the Explosives Division of DHS S&T to prepare their system for certification testing. Please note that if an EDS system fails certification testing, OEMs will be required to resubmit a fully updated data package and there will be a period of time where an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) will not be eligible to resubmit their system for certification testing.
