Description
All interested parties are invited to request the Advanced Explosive Ordnance Disposal Robotic System (AEODRS) Increment 2 and 3 Documentation Package which will be available on or about December 13, 2013. The AEODRS is anticipated to be a family of unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) that will be used by Joint Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) forces to counter the threat posed by improvised explosive devices (IED) and unexploded ordnance (UXO). The AEODRS family of UGVs is expected to consist of a dismounted operations variant (Increment 1), a tactical operations variant (Increment 2), and a base/infrastructure operations variant (Increment 3) that share a common and open logical, electrical, and physical architecture and that are all controlled by a common operator control unit (OCU). The documentation package describes the common architecture being used across the family and includes performance specifications and interface control documents for the tactical operations variant (Increment 2) and the base/infrastructure operations variant (Increment 3). The documentation package is being made available as part of continued communication with industry, academia, and other Government agencies regarding the AEODRS program. Requesters should note that the documentation package is subject to change after the release without notice. The Government anticipates future releases of the documentation package which will be announced separately. To request the documentation package provide your name, company/organization name, address, telephone number, and email address to Byron Brezina, email byron.brezina@navy.mil, no later than December 6, 2013. Organizations/individuals that received the dismounted operations variant (Increment 1) documentation package under solicitation number N4279411SN001 dated October 12, 2010, solicitation number N4279411SN002 dated August 16, 2011, or solicitation number N0017412SN011 dated March 22, 2012 will receive the tactical operations variant (Increment 2) and the base/infrastructure operations variant (Increment 3) documentation package without having to respond to this announcement. This announcement is for information only, does not constitute an invitation for bid or Request for Proposal, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a contract or order. Requesting the draft documentation package is not a prerequisite for ultimately submitting any future proposals. The Government will not pay for any effort expended in making the request or any effort expended after receipt of the package. Instructions for providing comments to the Government regarding the draft documentation package will be included with the release.
