Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Acquisition Operations, Strategic Acquisition Center, located 10300 Spotsylvania Ave, Suite 400, Fredericksburg, VA 22408, intends to enter into a contract on the basis of other than full and open competition for the procurement of a Hospital Accreditation Services. The VA intends to award a sole source, Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order to THE JOINT COMMISSION, One Renaissance Blvd. Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. The purchase order will be for 09 surveys, out of cycle surveys, and required publication fees, at various VHA Medical Facilities from November 2013 through January 2014. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals, a solicitation, or request for offerors; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability, and respond to alexis.makely@va.gov. The Government will consider responses to this announcement. Any responses must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Inquiries will only be accepted via email to alexis.makely@va.gov. No telephone requests will be honored. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. This purchase order will allow VHA facilities to maintain their accreditation status while a new requirement is solicited and the potential for open competition is explored. Justification for this sole source procurement is in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), Soliciting from a single source. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code for this effort is 813920 Professional Organizations, with a corresponding small business size standard $14 million. The estimated date of award for this action is November 15, 2013.
