- Request for Information: This sources sought is issued for information and planning purposes only. This announcement is NOT a Request for Proposal (RFP) and does not commit the Government to solicit or award a contract now or in the future. No solicitation is available at this time, nor is there an estimated date of solicitation release at this time. The purpose of this notice is to identify POTENTIAL SOURCES who have the capability/interest to manufacture the Metal Working and Machining Shop Set (MWMSS). The MWMSS is a concept that assembles and packages tool load configurations based on the 91E (Allied Trades) MOS. The system comes in two types, Type I and Type II. Type I will contain a Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) Lathe, Mill Drill, Multi-Process Welding, Thermal Cutting equipment, Air-Arc Gouging, air compressor, Mobile Electric Power (MEP) generator for shop power, Environmental Control Unit (ECU), and an assortment of hand/air tools. Type II augments Type I and will contain a CNC Milling Machine, Plasma table, ECU, and an assortment of hand/air tools. The MEP-805 30kW Tactical Quiet Generator, Maintenance Service Devise-V3 (MSD-V3), Environmental Control Unit (ECU) and General Mechanics Tool Kit will be provided as Government Furnished Material (GFM). The TDP is available on CD ROM by request at Stephen.e.lefebvre2.civ@mail.mil The estimated quantity over the 5 year period of performance is Type I: 281 each and Type II: 195 each. The following information is requested to assist in this market research effort: 1. A brief technical description of the item that you could provide that would meet the technical aspects of the TDP. 2. Any correspondence showing technical capabilities. 3. A Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) based on a 5 Year firm fixed price requirements contract. This ROM should also include an estimated price for the Prototypes for a quantity of 1 each. Also a ROM for production quantity breaks for an estimated annual production quantity up to 150 per year. All items shall be warranted as shown in the TDP.
