- SOURCES SOUGHT: THIS NOTICE IS MARKET RESEARCH TO SUPPORT INCLUSION OF A SOLE SOURCE (BRAND NAME) SPECIFICATION IN AN FY14 CONSTRUCTION PROJECT - FTG186, MECHANICAL ELECTRICAL BUILDING FOR MISSILE FIELD #1, FORT GREELY, ALASKA - AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. The U.S. Army Engineer District, Alaska intends to specify the below listed item as part of a larger construction contract to be executed on Fort Greely, Alaska. A determination by the Government to not compete this requirement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Reference FAR 6.302-1(c), "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements". ITEM: HID RPK40/RP40 Level I/II Card Reader system. THIS NOTICE IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE AND NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. No solicitation will be available as this sole source item will be incorporated into the specifications of an FY14 solicitation for a new Military Construction (MILCON) facility on Fort Greely, Alaska. Missile Defense Complex facilities on the Missile Fields utilize an HID RPK40/RP40 Level I/II Card Reader system as the main system for access control and authentication of personnel. All buildings on the Missile Defense Complex are equipped with an HID RPK40/RP40 Level I/II Card Reader system and all personnel carry access cards already programmed with the individual security files needed for identification and access to secure areas of Missile Defense Complex. Access to controlled areas are processed by this system which processes access requests and status change information with the head end control system using its specialized application software. With an HID RPK40/RP40 Level I/II Card Reader system in the individual facilities, operators and security forces are able to operate and program the system from the central location. HID RPK40/RP40 Level I/II Card Reader system is installed in all Missile Fields at Fort Greely, Alaska. Its database already contains all identification and authentication personnel files assigned to the Missile Defense Complex. It is essential to the Government operators and security forces that all new Card Reader systems in new facilities integrate with the existing system for proper control and response during emergencies. Vendors who offer a card reader system which can meet all of the above functional criteria are invited to respond to this notice. Responses must include the following information: Identification of the manufacturer's name, address, and country of product manufacture. Fully detailed specification sheets.
