- Description
- This is a sources sought notice issued for the purpose of conducting market research. The U.S. Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Center, Engineering Services Division (ISVS Branch), requires tear down, overhaul, and testing of nine (9) 140' TECO-Westinghouse Model A and Model B Direct Current (DC) Motors. The NAICS Code for this acquisition is 811310, and the Small Business Size standard is $7.0 Mil. Equipment Nomenclature: MOTOR, ELECT 900VDC, 2500HP, 245/305RPM NSN: OC 6105-01-309-3793 REF NBR/EFD: A100073G01 The main propulsion motor is a single armature Westinghouse motor connected to the propulsion shafting by a flanged coupling. The motor is a DC, shunt-wound, separately-excited, compensated machine, rated at 2,500 HP. It is designed for full load rating continuously at an ambient temperature of 122 degrees F. It is the Government's belief that only TECO-Westinghouse can provide the required Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts and overhaul the motors to proprietary OEM specifications, standards, and drawings, using OEM test procedures. The Coast Guard did not acquire this information, and it is our understanding, based on market research, that only the OEM has the proprietary data rights to the parts and technical data required to remanufacture these motors, converting the Model A motors to Model B motors, to meet the Coast Guard's needs. Interested and capable sources should contact the Contracting Officer, Ashley Fetherman, at: Ashley.A.Fetherman@uscg.mil, demonstrating their interest and capability within five (5) calendar days from the posting date of this notice. Interested sources shall provide data showing that they have successfully overhauled the above motors for the Government or commercial customers in the past, or that they have unlimited access to the OEM's technical data, including specifications, drawings, and salient characteristics. The Government does not intend to pay for any information that is submitted in response to this synopsis. Information received after this period may not be considered.
