Description
The National Park Service (NPS) has issued a notice in accordance with 36 C.F.R. § 2.22(c) regarding unattended property. The unattended property is a residential security deposit for a residence within Fort Mason, San Francisco, CA that may have been reimbursed by the incoming tenant. Any person possessing a legal or beneficial interest in the reported funds may contact us below to obtain more information about the funds and procedure to make a claim and receive the funds. 36 C.F.R. § 2.22(c)(1). Unattended property impounded pursuant to this section shall be deemed to be abandoned unless claimed by the owner or an authorized representative thereof within 60 days. The 60-day period shall begin when the rightful owner of the property has been notified, if the owner can be identified, or from the time the property was placed in the superintendent's custody, if the owner cannot be identified. 36 C.F.R. § 2.22(c)(3). If no rightful owner is identified through this procedure, the Code offers a disposal protocol. "Abandoned property shall be disposed of in accordance with title 41 Code of Federal Regulations." After an unsuccessful search for an owner, and following the 60-day contact period, NPS will consider the property to be "voluntarily abandoned" for the purposes of Title 41. Quarters 36E, 39E, 43, 48, 49, 50E, 50W Fort Mason, San Francisco, CA 94123 If you would like to make a claim to request said property, please follow the instructions available on-line at the following website: http://www.nps.gov/goga/parkmgmt/foma-notice.htm or call (415) 561-4729 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. You can mail your claim package to Catherine Robles, Realty Specialist, Business Management Division, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Fort Mason Building 201, San Francisco, CA 94123. Request for claim must be received by the National Park Service, Business Management Division, Attn: Catherine Robles, Building 201, Fort Mason, San Francisco, California 94123 no later than 4:00 p.m. (Pacific Time), Monday, January 6, 2014 in order to be evaluated and considered for a claim to request the said property.
