- This project involved the repair/replacement of multiple exterior and interior building components to remediate on-going water infiltration issues and repair some water-damaged components of the existing Arport Traffic Control Tower(ATCT at the St. Louis Regional Airport (ALN) in East Alton, IL. The specific items to be accomplished for this project include, but are not limited to, the following 1. Replace existing tower lap siding (and components) with insulated metal panel siding. 2. Cleaning and re-surfacing of existing catwalk metal handrail. 3. Cleaning, resurfacing, and re-jointing of existing exterior lower and upper exterior metal cab panels. 4. Furnishing and installation of new catwalk access door. 5. Re-seal and weatherproof tower entrance storefront/breezeway. 6. Re-finish flooring/ceiling/walls at tower entrance breezeway. 7. Patch 'relief holes' and re-finish ceiling on 4th floor. 8. Replace all tower windows (excluding cab windows). INTERESTED FIRMS MUST HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED SIMILAR PROJECTS BOTH IN DOLLAR AMOUNT AND SCOPE OF WORK WITHIN THE LAST THREE YEARS. The work will be performed in strict accordance with the contract drawings and specifications. Contract performance time is 40 calendar days each site with an anticipated start date of Spring 2014. The estimated price range is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. VERBAL REQUESTS FOR THE SIR WILL NOT BE HONORED. The contractor awarded this contract must have active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) before award can be made. Contractors can register at www.sam.gov All Small Businesses including Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and certified 8(a) contractors are highly encouraged to submit a request for this project. This notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
