The new thrust runner shall conform to ASTM A 36/A 36M, vacuum degassed, hot rolled or forged, unless otherwise accepted. The new thrust collar thickness of plates is anticipated to increase in order to alleviate cracking discovered; material shall be ASTM A36. All welds will be full penetration, 100% NDT of phase array and traditional UT and MT. The thrust collar and the thrust runner shall be final machined together with a mandrel (dummy shaft) to mimic the existing shaft. The existing spring bed for Unit 11 shall be shipped out and re-machined flat, removing no more than 0.010 inches unless otherwise approved. Any material removal from the existing spring bed shall be added onto the thrust runner/collar assembly. A site visit will be held at the Bonneville Lock and Dam on Thursday, 7 November 2013 beginning at 9:30 AM. Offerors are urged to attend.
