- PURCHASE ANNOUNCEMENT United States Department of Agriculture Agricultural Marketing Service DATE: November 6, 2013 USDA FRESH FRUIT AND VEGETABLE PILOT PROGRAM ANNOUNCED: The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) today announced plans to purchase fresh fruits and vegetable products in the following categories: Apples, Blueberries, Broccoli, Carrots, Grapes, Lettuce, Oranges, and Strawberries for the National School Lunch Program. A Request for Proposals will be issued in the near future. Offers to sell these products must be received no later than the date specified on the solicitation. Awards will be Firm Fixed Price with Economic Price Adjustment, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts. All offers must be submitted electronically through the Web-Based Supply Chain Management (WBSCM) website at http://www.usda.gov/wps/portal/usda/usdahome?navid=WBSCM. Offers submitted by any means other than WBSCM will be considered nonresponsive. Offerors are urged to carefully read all applicable terms and conditions of the Request for Proposals to ensure compliance with all program requirements.
