Description
Notice: Haiti Health Infrastructure Program Industry Day Dear Prospective Contractor: This Notice is the first stage of the forthcoming Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Construction of a new community hospital in the community of Saint Michel De'L'Attalaye (SMA), a medical clinic in the village Platana, in the Artibonite Region of Haiti, and a number of additional projects anticipated to be awarded in 2014. The projects are fully funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The RFPs for the first two projects are expected to be issued in the upcoming months. The SMA hospital project will be constructed on a greenfield site outside the community of Saint Michel De'L'Attalaye. The facility is approximately 4,050 square meters in gross area and consists of multiple structures. The Platana health center project is much smaller with an approximate gross area of 500 square meters. These projects are expected to be executed as "Turn Key" solutions under "Firm Fixed Price" contracts to be selected by USAID under a full and open contract tender. The selected contractor will be required to obtain all licenses and permits to operate legally in Haiti. Other projects are scheduled to be released for tender in early 2014. These projects are expected to include renovation and structural upgrade of existing medical facilities, construction of new medical facilities, and construction of medical warehouse facilities at multiple sites throughout Haiti. USAID in is currently sourcing contractors interested in performing work in Haiti. Contractor experience and capabilities that may be considered shall include, but not be limited to: •Experience executing projects of similar size and scope •Experience working internationally in a similar development context •Bonding and Insurance Limits •Understanding of construction in Haiti and/or the Caribbean •Contractor Organizational Structure •Contractor Revenue History and Financial Capacity •Years in business An "Industry Day" has been set for November 21st at 2:00 pm in the AECOM office located at: 800 Douglas Entrance North Tower, 2nd Floor Coral Gables, FL 305 444 4691 This event will provide background and more specific information on the Haiti Health Infrastructure Program and projects that will be included as part of the program. The management team of USAID and AECOM will be present to answer questions, identify perceived risk elements and accept feedback on doing business in Haiti.
