- Sources Sought Notice Dental CAD/CAM Milling System This request for information is posted in accordance with FAR 52.215-3. This is not a solicitation and no contract will be awarded from this request for information. Reponses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. The VA is conducting market research for informational purposes only. This market research will be used for preliminary planning to gain knowledge of capabilities/qualifications from interested business concerns that have the resources to perform the requirements state below. Responses are required by 4:00 PM CST, 15 November 2013, and must include documented capability to the requirements below. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 12, seeks information on the dental CAD/CAM systems available on FSS. Vendors who believe they can meet the requirements listed below are encouraged to submit product literature and technical specifications to: Chad Turner, Contracting Officer Chad.turner@va.gov Background: The VA is conducting market research for the potential procurement of dental prosthesis design and milling technology for the Dental service at the Milwaukee VA Medical Center, Milwaukee WI. This system must feature various modeling software options for the clinicians to adequately design customized implant and prosthetic solutions for all patient types. This system must be capable of milling both conventional and specialized prostheses using a varying array of production materials. Scope: The contractor shall furnish the equipment outlined below. The contractor shall provide installation and training services to the Milwaukee VA Medical Center. Salient Characteristics The CAD/CAM milling system must provide the ability to design and mill out the following products: CONVENTIONAL SPECIALTY Anatomic full contour crownsCustom abutments Anatomic copingsScrew-retained bridges Simple copingsImplant Bar module Bridge frameworkModel creator module InlaysProvisional module OnlaysBite splint module Veneers Copy milling from a wax-up Telescoping crowns The CAD/CAM milling system must be able to mill the following materials: "Titanium, Zirconia, Aluminum Oxide, Lithium Di-silicate, Chrome-Cobalt, "Wax, Poly-Methyl Methacrylate (PMMA) "Translucent zirconia The CAD/CAM milling system must have software capable of: "Real-life tooth coloring "Saving 3D design images to PDF file format "DICOM viewing (File system associated with Cone Beam Computed Tomography images) The CAD/CAM milling system must be compatible for use with the following products: "SAM articulator system (SAM Präzisionstechnik GmbH) "Artex articulator system (Amann Girrbach AG) The CAD/CAM milling system must: "Create and store design system files/data in such a way that is compatible with Imes-Icore CORiTEC 550i Milling unit in Green Bay, WI (i.e. an open STL file format platform, or equivalent). "Be able to create designs that can be customized to match up with all market available implant system interfaces. If unable to match design to all system interfaces, proposal must identify which interfaces are supported by the proposed product solution. "Be able to mill blanks/puck sizes of up to 98mm X 25mm (for up to 16 connected units) "Be 5-axis milling technology "Have blank/puck changer associated with milling unit "Have automatic tool changer "Handle tools with 3mm or 6mm shaft diameters "Feature spindle speeds up to 60,000rpm "Run on 230V outlets (pre-existing site condition) "Weigh approximately 180kg "Have complete system footprint of approximately 2150mm x 920mm x 1770mm "Be designed for use in small to medium sized labs Additional Requirements: 12 months of warranty support and software licensing rights, if applicable. The proposal is to include 3 days of on-site training for up to 5 VA staff members. The proposal is to include 3 days of off-site training for no less than 2 VA staff members. Deliverables or Delivery Schedule: The contractor shall deliver the product, and provide training per the terms included above in the statement of work. After contacting COR (or COR designee) at the VA, a specific time will be scheduled for the delivery of the product within 60 days of receipt of order. Product will be stored at Contractor's warehouse until the scheduled delivery/install is determined. Product will be delivered, and training provided between 7:30am and 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, unless otherwise requested by the VA. Documentation necessary includes a statement acknowledgement/invoice and receipt of delivery. Place of Performance: Milwaukee VA Medical Center 5000 W. National Avenue Milwaukee, WI 53295 Warranty The Contractor warrants that the items will be free from defects from materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of not less than one (1) year for equipment defined herein. Contractor will replace or repair equipment if necessary to the satisfaction of the Government. Contractor shall provide a copy of the written warranty upon acceptance of the equipment.
