Description

Solicitation Number: VA260-14-Q-0002 Notice Type: Combined Synopsis/Solicitation notice for the Roseburg VA Healthcare System, for the following services: Program Description: VA Oregon Rural Health (ORH) has authorized the Roseburg VA Healthcare System (VARHS) to pilot a Veteran Cycling for Health & Wellness Program in Douglas County, Oregon. The contractor shall furnish all facilities, labor, materials, equipment and tools to establish a cycling for health and wellness program; including the following components: "Group Fitness Training and Nutrition Education The Contractor shall have a well-established (e.g., minimum of 5 years of operation) fitness program in Roseburg that includes staff, equipment, facilities, and nutritional educational programs. The Contractor shall provide to Veterans three (3) sessions per week. The Contractor shall provide sessions at a minimum of 60 minutes. The Contractor shall provide & maintain a file for each Veteran to record cycle education, confidence training, and fitness metrics (e.g., weight, waist measurement, food log, cycle distance, workout sessions, etc). The Contractor shall develop measured benchmarks by the completion of the program. "Certified Bicycle Instructor The Contractor shall provide a Roseburg based bicycle instructor who is certified by League of American Bicyclists. The Contractor shall maintain a file for each Veteran to record cycle education, confidence training, and fitness metrics (e.g., weight, waist measurement, food log, cycle distance, workout sessions, etc.). The Contractor shall develop measured benchmarks by the completion of the program. A Statement of Work (SOW) has been included in RFQ VA260-14-Q-0002. The anticipated start date of this contract is 01/01/2014. The contract shall be for a base period 01/01/2014 through 09/30/2014. There shall be 1 possible extension option provided, depending on contractor performance, and the needs of the VA. The solicitation shall result in the award of a single contract.
