- The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Environmental Management (EM) plans to conduct an Industry Day on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 in support of the upcoming EM procurement(s) at the Idaho Site post FY 2015. The goal of the event is to provide interested parties with an overview of the scope requirements subsequent to the issuance of a Request for Information seeking information on industry?s capabilities. The anticipated number of procurement(s), types of contract(s), period(s) of performance, amount of funding, or set aside possibilities are to be determined. The contemplated procurement(s) will incorporate remaining EM work scope following completion of the current Idaho Cleanup Project (ICP) and the Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Project (AMWTP) contracts. The Industry Day presentations will provide a site overview and technical discussion of the Elements of Scope for the anticipated procurement(s) for EM work at the Idaho Site. The major Elements of Sco pe to be discussed at the Industry day include, but are not limited to Spent Nuclear Fuel, Solid Waste Management, Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D), Environmental Activities, Site Infrastructure (EM Areas only), and Calcine Disposition Project activities. The objective of Industry Day is to obtain information on industry capability to assist the Department in formulating its acquisition strategy and as a result, answers to questions regarding future Request for Proposal(s) for contemplated procurement(s) will not be available at this Industry Day event. The Industry Day will be held at the Colonial Theater Willard Arts Center, 450A Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83402 on Wednesday, December 4, 2013. Check‐in will begin at 7:30am (local time) and the meeting will begin at 8:00am (local time). Details concerning registration to attend this event are available at the following website: http://www.emcbc.doe.gov/IDAHO%20SITE%20POST%20FY%202015/ Registration for the Industry Day will close COB November 26, 2013. Pre‐Registration is required. Walk‐ins will not be permitted. Registration is limited to five (5) representatives from each company attending the Industry Day; however, if requested attendance exceeds the capacity of the facility, it may be necessary to further limit attendance of personnel from each company. DOE will reply via e‐mail with the registration confirmation. All expenses associated with attendance will be the responsibility of the participants. Prior to the Industry Day, DOE intends to publish a Request for Information (RFI), incorporating the Elements of Scope, seeking interested parties with specialized capabilities who meet all or part of the requirements as more information becomes available. With release of this RFI, the DOE intends to seek ideas and acquire feedback from contractors and other interested parties regarding options for innovative approaches for the division of scope elements as well as insight into contracting options to achieve the Environmental Management (EM) goals. At this time we expect that capability statements will be due on December 20, 2013.
